   Engr. Mustapha Bulama, FNSE, President Elect.  

 

Engr Mustapha Bulama is a Civil/Structural Engineer with outstanding academic background and experience that spans 32 years.

 He had his Civil Engineering Degree from Ahmadu Bello University in1977. For four years (1978-1982) after National Youth Service Corp (NYSC), he worked with Etteh Aro & Partners, a Civil / Structural Engineering Consultancy firm of international standing.

 After obtaining Masters Degree (Structures) from the famous Imperial College of Science and Technology, University of London, he established himself as a Consultant. He was responsible for the detailed structural design of several projects including National Hospital Abuja (1996), PTF Rehabilitation of Tertiary Health Institutions for Zone IV (1996), Nigerian Labour Congress / NSITF Ten-Storey office block Abuja (1994), Unity Bank Ten-Storey Headquarters Abuja (2002), and Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria Headquarters Abuja (1993). Furthermore, he was commissioned for the design of Bridge Structures for Jahi and Kafe Districts in Abuja (2003-2007). He had also been involved in the design of the 600 Km Kano - Maiduguri dualisation now under construction.     

 Engr Mustapha Bulama is the Managing Partner of Sani Mustapha & Associates, and is jointly responsible with other partners for the firm’s business. He stands as project director in all the projects undertaken by the firm.

 He has contributed greatly to the development of the Engineering Profession in the Northern part of Nigeria, and the country at large. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, and a past President of the Society. He has also served as a member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). He has served as the Chairman of Regulation and Control, Education and Training of COREN Committees.  Furthermore, he is a member of the Capacity Building Committee of the World Federation of Engineering Organisations (WFEO) which is operating in Paris within UNESCO Headquarters.

 In recognition of the enormous contribution he has made to the technological development of the country, he was in 1996 appointed into the Vision 2010 Committee. Again in 2009 he was appointed into the Business Support Group of Vision 20:2020 and also the National Technical Working Group of Vision 20:2020 to serve in the Housing Thematic Committee.

 

Engr. Felix Atume, FNSE, mni, Registrar 

 

Engr. Felix Atume, FNSE, mni completed his secondary education at the famous Government College Keffi in June 1976.  He graduated from Ahmadu Bello University in 1981 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.  He returned to Ahmadu Belllo University and obtained a Masters Degree in Highways Engineering and Transportation in 1991.

Engr. Atume also holds an MBA (Management) from the Benue State University.

Engr. Atume started his working career with the Benue State Government where he rose to the rank of Director Civil Engineering.  He served as the Director of Benue State Rural Development Agency, BERDA.  Engr. Atume was appointed the Honourable Commissioner for Works in Benue from 1997 – 1999.

He served the Nigerian Society of Engineers as the Executive Secretary from 2003 to 2005 where he voluntarily left to lecture at the Federal University of Technology Minna as a Senior Lecturer in  the Department of Civil Engineering.  He had also lectured at the Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi from 1992 to 2000  as a visiting lecturer.  Engr. Atume has written and presented many technical papers on Highways Engineering and Transportation.

 Engr. Atume was appointed the Registrar of COREN on March 12, 2007. His tenure has been renewed for the second term by the Council of COREN on 12th March, 2010.

Engr. Felix Atume is also the general secretary of the Federation of African Organisations of Engineers

He is an Alumnus of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS, Kuru.

Engr. Felix Atume is widely traveled.

He is married with children.
